A Little Background on Two Intrepid Travelers

Eileen and I first met way back in September of 1981 on my very first day of teaching at New Denmark Elementary School where she was already teaching.  Over the years we became friends then traveling buddies. I really didn't know what I was getting myself into when I agreed to our first trip.  A week in Acapulco was filled with adventures that I would never have had on my own or with other friends.  What memorable trips we've had to Acapulco, Costa Rica, St. Pierre-Miquelon, Guatamala, Ireland, Columbia and India!  Too bad there weren't blog sites back then when we first started our travels!
Our trip to Columbia actually started out as an adventure to Nicaragua in March of 2010.  Through weather delays at the airport we ended up missing a connecting flight to Managua, so after a bit of negotiation with the airline we arrived in Columbia with not an idea at all of what to do.  It  was a fabulous trip with fun and sometimes frustrating adventures.
And now we try again for Nicaragua. This time, God willing, we will be arriving in Managua, guidebook in hand  to enjoy whatever comes our way!
